Fire Ant Festival
Held every year the fourth weekend of March, Ashburn welcomes the Fire Ant Festival not the ants themselves. Known for its wacky and off the wall activities, the festival offers family oriented fun for all ages from the Fire Ant Calling contest, a giant Fire Ant Maze, carnival, car show, arts and crafts, fireworks and much more.

Trick-or-Treat in the Streets
Held around Halloween, this fun event draws in all of Turner County’s kids dressed in their Halloween best. It’s a great opportunity to meet and greet with city and county representatives as they hand out candy to Turner County’s little residents in a safe environment with street closures. The date is announced via The Wiregrass Farmer, the local newspaper of the county, each year.
Agritourism, HOME-GROWN FOOD, AND FUN!
Calhoun Produce is a delicious stop for anyone wanting to sample Georgia Grown products in Turner County. Known for hand-picked produce including strawberries, blueberries, butterbeans, and peas, the farm is a source for “agri-tainment” for the community, offering two and a half acres of pick-your-own strawberries, a corn maze, animals, and other seasonal activities.
